1. Make sure you’re drinking water. Keep a water bottle at your desk or carry one around with you if you have the chance. Being dehydrated can make a stressful day that much worse without realizing it.
2. Have you eaten anything recently? Try to eat a snack or something every few hours to keep your energy up and morale higher. (This one can be hard if you work in retail due to the nature of the job, but if you have pockets you can always keep a bag of peanuts or cashews to snack on if you need to)
3. Remember to take a deep breath every once in a while and check in with yourself, mentally and physically.
4. Take a stretch break if you’ve been sitting for a while. Your muscles will thank you.
5. If you’re able, get some fresh air or do something active as often as possible. Have a 30 minute lunch break? Try eating outside if you can, or walking around. Getting your muscles moving and into a new environment can help keep you happy and healthy while at work.
Even though you are serving others while at work, you can still do small things to put yourself first! Take care of yourselves!
